Does anyone know if the licences will be sent out in time for this Sunday’s race in Dundalk?
I rang CI today but there was no answer.

CI will not answer the phones at all this week , as they will be too busy sorting all the licences .

I'll be collecting the licences from Cycling Ireland tomorrow morning. I'll be bringing all of the open licences up to Dundalk, non-competition licences will be given out at the shop on Sunday morning, and uncollected licences will be left in Joe Daly's for people to collect at their own convenience.

I'm sending all of the Full competition licences and back numbers up to Dundalk tomorrow with Declan Quigley.
If you are planning to race tomorrow try leave yourself a little time to spare- Declan has about 70 licences to give out, and he'll want to get a warm up in, so if you show up 5 minutes before sign on closes you might well be out of luck.
I'll have the Club-competition and Cycling member licences at the shop before the Sunday spin.

Look out for a silver Ford Focus in the car park in Dundalk. And don't forget to bring safety pins!

A big thankyou to Declan Quigley and the Wife for looking after our racing licences today in Dundalk. Judging by the pile of numbers and licences on the roof of Declan's car they had their work cut out.
Cheers

Hi, I'm just wondering where I can collect my C.I licence from? Couldn't make the Sunday spins for the past few weeks. I was down in Joe Dalys on Saturday but they weren't there. Thanks.

All of the remaining uncollected licences are back in Joe Daly's for people to collect whenever it suits them. Apologies to anyone who dropped in to the shop looking for their licence the past while, they have been travelling between various races and weekend spins. They won't be moving from the shop again.
Yearbooks are also available for collection from the shop.

I got this from Cycling Ireland today:
“All,
Cycling Ireland would like to provide the following update to members and clubs regarding the status of 2010 licence applications.
At present there are 4992 licences for 2010 distributed to 178 affiliated clubs this year, representing an additional 700 members on the same period last year. We would like to apologise for the delay experienced by some members in receiving their 2010 licences. This was due to service difficulties encountered with the rollout of a new membership system. As a result the office staff were unable to print licence cards until early February. This combined with the delayed opening of the online payment system and additional queries related to the new licence grading system generated a backlog of applications.
We would also like to apologise for the difficulties experience in contacting the office during the past few months. We are conducting a review of operations with a view to improving the communication to members re the status of applications etc.
At present there is no backlog of applications so licences can be issued within 5 days of receipt of all the necessary details and payment. Cycling Ireland is continue to work with our service provider to improve the registration process. A detailed guide for clubs and members to the online process will be available next month.
A spreadsheet off all the issued (printed) licences as of Mar 24th, can be found under the General section of the Key Documents are at the following link: www.cyclingireland.ie/Key-Documents/General.aspx
If you are still awaiting a licence please check this list.
Finally If you have any problems with your current 2010 licence please contact the office on (info@cyclingireland.ie or by phone to 01 8551522) to arrange for a re-print.
Geoff Liffey

I have to be fair to them and say I didn't have any issues with getting our licences, out of all of the Orwell licences only 3 were delayed for various reasons.
The thing that strikes me though is the 700 new members bit:
Cycling Ireland said:

700 new members by March is truly remarkable growth. The Orwell seem to have picked up about 650 of them though, so what I really want to know is who got the other 50 new members?
