CL 2014 R5- Black Bull 10TT

Next week sees us return to the road with the first of the 10 mile time trials. This isn't a championship race, but it will take place on the very same course as the 10 championships will be held in June.

It's not a bad cycle from town - maybe folk could post here if they're heading out, have a group spin out with some experienced riders who know where they're going.
If you do drive out please remember not to block any access to private houses. This area is used frequently, so keeping the neighbours happy is important.

Advanced sign on is by way of this thread , and then show up at the start 5 minutes before your appointed time.

The start and finish will be on the Trim road near the cottages that are on the RHS heading to Batterstown. The course is out to the roundabout and back. ridewithgps.com/routes/2435003

Same rules as R1 apply - aero bikes and equipment are allowed, and no drafting. If you catch another rider (good for you!) check that there is no traffic coming up behind you before pulling out, and give them loads of room as you pass. Remember they may have no notion that you're steaming through until you have actually passed them. On the other hand, if you are caught, keep on going at your own pace, don't be tempted to try sit on to the rider who has passed you.

Please don't hassle the timekeepers for your time- there's no problem asking, but make sure to do it at a time when there aren't any riders coming in.

Change in plan with work means I can now make this event. I think there's an open slot at 19:24 which would be ideal timing for me, but will keep an eye on this thread to see if that suits but will assume I need to first register before 19:00 (will be parking at Black Bull, but will go to start point if sign-on is there instead). 19:24 is yours. No need to go to Black Bull, just show up at the start not less than 5 minutes before your start.

Sorry for late notice but I've decided to go to TT tonight, feeling a bit better this evening than I have done in last few days. Will take one of the later slots please, 19.51 to 19.54.

Well, that was fun. My first TT since 1986. I'd forgotten how horrible they are. By the end, my legs felt like they'd been dipped in acid and I could taste blood in my mouth for half an hour afterwards. Still, that means I gave it the beans, right?

I know my time was rubbish, and I wouldn't exactly say I enjoyed it, but I can't wait for the next one.
