For those of you still interested in the maiden run of the Pink Elephant here is some more information. The following is the route
tinyurl.com/Pink-Elephant-200 There is one minor error in this route depiction as one of the roads to be used is not represented on the map!! For those of you that were thinking it was flat (as I was too initially), it's not!! According to bikehike there are 2345m of climbing and it is concentrated in the second half of the route i.e. from Clonakilty onward. The hills are mostly shortish reasonably shallow drags. There are many of them though. The Ardattin would be a reasonable comparator - which some people do describe as flat. I would not agree with that sentiment. The controls are Kinsale, Clonakilty and Grenagh. The navigation is not overly difficult with most of the complexity in a short stretch from Carrignavar to Glanmire. I will follow up in the next week with more information on the registration arrangements. I would appreciate if people could give me an indication as to interest as soon as possible at
mkos@o2.ie. If you have any more questions please let me know.

The Kevin being Kevin O'Sullivan of Midleton CC.
I'll be heading down to this and I believe Ivan McA and Damien Ryan are also planning on it. I'd say lifts could be arranged - post here if you're interested. I'm looking forward to this one - haven't done any cycling around Cork at all.
