Hey folks,
Apologies for keeping the head down over the last month or two regarding club kit but a lot of work has gone on in the background to get us to today.
First up, we sourced about half a dozen companies to supply us with the club kit and after lengthy discussions, Spin11 were voted by the committee to be our supplier for 2012. We've managed to bring the prices down on 2011 and have also introduced a new range for the members to buy which are of a higher quality but the price reflects this. I'd suggest taking a look at this kit on Monday night as it does appear to be an significant improvement on what we have. You’ll also notice that we have several new lines of clothing that people can now buy. Regarding the women’s jersey, I’m still working with Spin11 on this after the complaints of last year so I’ve left them off the list for now. I understand that most of the women wear a version of the men’s jersey so hopefully this won’t be for too much longer.
So as Dick mentioned, we have a kit ordering night that will take place on Monday between 7 and 9 at Joes. In attendance will be Spin 11 representatives who will have a full set of the samples that the members will be able to try on. This order will close the following day with the plan to have this back for Easter week.
Note that if you want kit for the summer, this order is the one to use to get it. While we will have a limited amount of stock in the shop, we can’t guarantee that we’ll have your size so please make sure you take this opportunity to order what you want.
Going forward, I wanted to outline the process that's going to take place over the next 6 or so months to make the process of ordering club kit easier. First up, thanks to Julia, we now have an online store up on this site which we will use in the future to take in the order. Because this kit is a slightly different fit, I didn't want to open this up until people have tried on the samples and know what sizing they are going with. However, the plan is to use this for subsequent orders to make it easier for everyone. Secondly, I’m hoping to make the kit ordering a more frequent event so the next order should be going in around the June/July timeframe and with the 60 day turnaround, it should allow us to get our Autumn and Winter gear in with plenty of time. After that we should be looking at around November/December for the next order.
Finally, I’m in the middle of getting some extra items sourced such as T-Shirts, Polo shirts and hoodies which you should be able to order on a separate night.
