Anybody thinking of doing this Audax event -

It would be good to see strong support from the club on it given that it is being organised by Dave.

I've designed this 200 first and foremost for my own benefit as a qualifier and ideal training for Paris-Brest-Paris . This means mostly flat and fast roads from town to town, which by happy coincidence makes it an ideal event for first timers to try their hand at. Navigation is straightforward, and there are plenty of options on route for food and drink.
Anyone who wants to enter will need to send me a copy of the entry form Link - I need that in advance as brevet cards need to be made out for each participant. You can e-mail me the completed form, post it to me, or drop it into Joe Daly's.
The price is €5, and as you might imagine at that price you are expected to be entirely self-sufficient. There will be mechanical support in case of an irretrievable breakdown, but otherwise once you get your card and routesheet at the start you are left to your own devices. Payment can made by cheque posted to me or cash dropped in to the shop.
There's already been a lot of interest from within Orwell, so hopefully there will be a good crew to make it a good social day out.

Almost all of the Orwell riders will be taking part in their first Audax event, though they have a huge amount of cycling experience between them, so if anyone is wavering about taking the plunge on this one you can be assured you will probably never get a better opportunity to try out audaxing.
