Hey Diarmuid,
I'm also looking at renting a bike there. For the sake of simplicity I think i'll just shell out the extra pounds for a bike at the trails (East Coast Adventure).
Edit: Just confirmed that you can bring your own pedals with you and they will fit them on the bike for the rental period.
