_____________________________________________

Round 3 of the Zoo Hair Salon/Velotex Women’s National League will take place this weekend in Balbriggan.  Once again we will have our own separate race and although this course is a bit more challenging than last week there really is only one not too long climb in it and as they say what goes up must come down.  So again I would highly recommend it for anyone who would like to give racing ago with out the pressure of racing in a bunch of men.  Race organiser Oliver McKenna has always been very supportive of Women’s cycling and is putting up Prize in dept 1-5 and first Junior across the line.   There will bit of a gap from now until our next League race on the 18th May in Mullingar so if any of you were thinking of doing some club racing this would be an ideal way to get started.

Sign on is in the Ring Common Sports Centre
                 Race start 11.15am
                 Race Distance 2 laps = 59.2 Km

The League will be handicapped by giving a point’s advantage to riders who fall
into one of these categories:

0 points if you have been competing at a higher level abroad i.e. a uci team.
0 points if you are part of the development squad and have represented your Province or Ireland in 2007
8 points if you are part of the development squad but have not represented your Province or Ireland in 2007
8 points if you are not part of any of the above but have raced the National League in the past.
12 points if you are not part of the Development squad and this is your first year to racing the National League.
12 Points if you are a first year Junior.

If you do not fit into any of these categories your handicap will be awarded at the discretion of the handicappers i.e. Geraldine Gill and Orla Hendron who will endeavour to be fair and open at all times
but their decision will be final.

Points will be awarded as so:
5 for starting
6 5 4 3 2 1 in descending order as the top six finish.

There will be eight races of which your best 6 will count.
