Orwell gathering for a Sunday spin

Orwell gathering for a Sunday spin

If you would like to cycle with our club on a regular basis, you will be required to join Orwell Wheelers and apply for Cycling Ireland membership after your first spin. This is to ensure that all riders have insurance cover from a 3rd party viewpoint.

For Orwell members who wish to race in Open Races and the Club League, you should apply for the relevant Full competition license, and pay the club league fee and club league marshaling deposit.

If you wish to participate in the Club League races only, you should apply for the Cycling Ireland club competition license, and pay the club league fee and club league marshaling deposit.

The Club League Marshaling Deposit will be refunded to you at the end of the club league. Failure to complete your marshaling duties will result in Dave Mc spending your entire deposit on beer, which he is highly unlikely to share with you.

Print out the forms below and post them completed to Paraic Morrissey, 5 Richmond Crescent, Summerhill, Dublin 1. Cheques should be made payable to Orwell Wheelers.

If you don't have a chequebook then bank drafts or postal orders will do. Please don't send cash in the post.

Please do not send payment for Cycling Ireland membership. Membership is payable by credit card by registering on www.cyclingireland.ie. Membership forms for CI are available from their forms page.

If you have any queries send them to OrwellAdmin.

Beginner Riders/New Members

We welcome new members from autumn to March. We meet at Joe Daly Cycles in Dundrum most Sundays. Spins commence from 9.00am.

The beginner group will be lead by 2 experienced club riders over the winter and you need to be able to ride 60kms before you turn up for one of these spins. The purpose of these spins are to get you used to riding in groups and to build up the kms at a reasonable pace. The spins will increase in length every week after Christmas with cycles throughout the surrounded Dublin and Wicklow area. Hard shell helmets and road bikes with dropped handlebars are mandatory. Check out our club spin info and requirements and etiquette and technique before coming out.
