Orwell's John McElligott is organising a challenging 200km with a significant amount of climbing and descending on some of the quietest and most spectacular roads that Kerry has to offer.

The route begins in the Muckross Road car park a few km outside Killarney on the road to Molls Gap. It’s a straight cycle to Molls Gap via Ladies View Climb. At Molls descend down into Knemare and then head out the road to Sneem. After a few kms you will be climbing the backroad to Molls Gap.

The route continues down to the Black Valley and over the Gap of Dunloe prior to turning left to head through the Iveragh Peninsula taking in Caragh Lake, Ballaghbeama and Ballaghisheen. The roads are heavy but mostly quiet.

The route is stunning, even on the poorest of days.

it'd be great to see a gang of Orwell members heading down to take on what promises to be a challenging but fantastic day out!
