Michelle Geoghegan in accident.

The club would like to wish Orwell member
Michelle Geoghegan a speedy recovery after her racing accident on Monday night. Michelle was riding in the bunch and unfortunately there was a touch of wheels in the group and fell into the path of an oncoming van, which ran over her foot/ankle. Michelle has suffered a broken ankle and collar bone.
We wish her a speedy recovery and hope to see her back on the bike as soon as possible.

Noel Murphy is a dad

Congratulations to Orwell member Noel Murphy and wife Valarie
on the birth of their son Dan. Based on his 8lb 10oz weight, he's unlikely to be a climber like his dad! Luckily he didn't arrive mid Wicklow 200, otherwise it would have been a sprint finish back
to Belfield.

Billy Butler Leisure Cycle

Due to a clash of dates with other events locally and nationally the date for the
third annual Billy Butler Leisure Cycle has been changed from the 24th August to the
29th June. This event has been a huge success over the last two years with over 80
riders each year. There is a choice of four routes 45, 70, 115 and 125km, all with
motor bike marshalls, back up, ambulance and food stops. The route is a good mixture
of flat and hills with the option of a climb up the Slieve Blooms for those with any energy
left near the end. All groups are run at a controlled speed with something to suit
everybody. Sign on at Birr Rugby Club from 9am for 10am start.

Tuesday night spins

Tuesday night spins. Tuesday night spins will move to the
Popes Cross in Phoenix Park at 7pm from next Tuesday
10th June. If interested text John Devitt on 086 1717933

Traffic light etiquette

Groups are reminded that Red lights are to be obeyed-not only is it the rules
of the road, it is unsafe to break lights, and you are putting yourself/other
riders in the group at risk. Having Owell groups barrel through red lights is bad
publicity for our club, and is particularly so for our sponsors (remember that
you are wearing club gear with their company logos on it). Please keep this in
mind when you are out on the roads.
