Meet and Train for Orwell ladies

Would you like to meet other ladies of similar cycling ability and goals for training?
If so, Orwell’s Meet and Train Sessions may be ideal for you, whether you’re
planning to race, tackle a challenging long distance event such as the Wicklow
100/200 or just want to get fit and have fun.  Female members’ contact details
and goals are added to a contact list which is distributed amongst everyone on
the list so that you can contact other members directly to arrange your own
training spins.  In addition, we will organise some structured sessions.  Already
this has been a big hit with a group meeting at the Papal Cross, Phoenix Park most
Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm.  Now that the evenings are getting longer and the
weather is improving, this is an ideal time to get out for a spin after work/college.
Hopefully this initiative will provide our female members with mutual support and
encouragement with their training.  Even if you are not a member of Orwell Wheelers CC,
it will still be necessary to obtain a Cycling Ireland Licence to ensure full insurance
cover during training spins.  Forms may be downloaded from the Membership Section-
please let us know if you require any assistance with completing them.  Bikes should also
be in good mechanical order with brakes/gears regularly serviced and tires pumped
hard and properly fitting helmets are compulsory.  Also ensure that you carry spare
tube/s & levers and a drink & snack on all training spins.  A light rain-coat is also
useful in this unpredictable weather!  If you would like to be added to the contact
list or require further information, please contact:
Aideen Collard, E-mail: aideen.collard@gmail.com, Tel: 087 4179967 or
Orla Hendron, E-mail: orlahendron@hotmail.com, Tel: 086 2500754.
