Caoimhe May, took a Leinster title last Sunday, winning the Junior Women category at the Leinster Cyclocross Champs held in Navan's Blackwater Park. Caoimhe was third overall, behind Elite Women's Champion Silvia Gallagher and Runner-Up Breda Horan.

Well done Caoimhe – that was a great way to close out the year.

Corkagh Park

Back at Corkagh on Sunday the competition was no less intense and some of our younger members showed their class while a first timer made his mark.

In the sprint cup, David was 1st, with Fearne 2nd and Andrew 3rd. That was a great show from both Fearne and David who each defeated 4 or 5 challengers on their way to the final. Explosive power was put to great effect.

In the team time trial, the squad of 7 year olds Cara, Anna and Rachel, were pipped by the slightly older boys, EvanKillianLuca & Ruairi.

Ruairi was best in the Slow Bicycle Race beating Killian in the final

In the U10 handicap race Aine tried very hard and did brilliantly holding on to 3rd just behind the steaming Evan in 2nd and flying Luca in 1st.

While in the U16 CP, new lad, Jason burst on the scene and cruised home to victory in his first race, staying out in front from the start. Well done Jason. Behind him Peter took 2nd, Killian 3rd, Thomas had a great ride to take 4th and Andrew and Ronan were the best of the scratch group . Hannah was first lady home.

Upcoming events

December 11th - all meeting at Corkagh @ 10:00. Road trips are planned for older groups with Cian & Myles helping out. Note these are weather dependent and if we’re not happy with the state of the roads we will stay in Corkagh. As was the case last Sunday.

December 18th - Invitational Races @ Corkagh - open to all our youths, Christmas races for all ages and we will be joined by local clubs. Spot prizes on offer as well. More details next week. Post-race mulled wine and mince pies in the Green Isle Hotel. The Seniors will then race in the annual Hamper Race.

December 25th - Open pressies.

January 1st - The club Youth CX Championships. These could well be the first youth ones, certainly the first in my time in the club. They will be run off in Corkagh park before the senior event. All ages catered for.
