Unfortunately we have received a complaint from a member of the Garda Siochana regarding an Orwell group on a club spin last weekend and we have been asked to remind all members that as much as we expect cars to give us space and respect we too should remember that we all share the road.

The complaint focused on 2 things:
1. The size of the group on a small road going up a long climb
2. The group not singling out to let traffic progress when possible.

The Gardai have asked us to consider cycling in smaller groups where possible on climbs where we might be going slowly. It might be worth considering breaking groups up before the climb and then regrouping a the top of needs be

Although it is legal to cycle 2 abreast please remember to be considerate to other road users. If it is safe to do so please single out and let traffic pass when possible.

The roads of Wicklow are a lot busier this summer than we have known them, please be careful. Lets get out there, enjoy our time on the bike and get home safely.
