Now that the evenings are getting brighter, the temperature is rising and the weekend weather improving it's great to see and hear that so many club members are escaping from a winter spent inside on the turbo.

Hopefully, we are coming close to the final stages of the current level 5 lockdown and we are all looking forward to having the opportunity to cycle together as a club again outside our county and on our favourite routes into Wicklow, Kildare, Meath and beyond.

Over the coming weeks, it's important that we sustain our focus on supporting the government guidelines and coming up with creative routes where we can build up our individual distance within a 5k radius of home in preparation for heading further afield when restrictions are lifted. Everyone's efforts over the past year to cycle safely within government and Cycling Ireland guidelines is very much appreciated so let's make sure we don't fall at the final hurdle.

We expect revised guidelines to be issued in early April and as soon as these are available a revised club position will be published and circulated to members. Until then the current club level 5 guidelines still apply.

Looking forward with hopeful anticipation for a summer of safe club cycling on the open road.
