For Yellow and White groups we will operate a soft signup process. If you plan to attend a White or Yellow Sunday spin, we will ask that you RSVP to the relevant event. This will give us an idea of numbers to expect.

We might trial a process where these events close when a max group size is reached - and open additional events depending on the number of leaders available.

More information on how we will manage spin leaders will follow.

Winter Spins start this coming weekend
The full schedule is available for a quick reference at this link on the club website
Winter Spins Roster

THE PLAN

Red groups determine their own routes and leaders.

Orange groups are also self organised, but typically rotate through 6 routes over the Winter.

Yellow and White groups have a more varied selection of routes.
During Oct/Nov, both Yellow and White leave Dundrum in the same direction,
(have the same coffee stop but the Yellow ride is a bit longer and may have more hills).
In Dec/Jan, Yellow and White groups generally follow the same route.
From mid Feb, Yellow rides diverge more from White with longer hillier routes.

Routes start easy enough in October, and get a bit longer (sometimes with hills) up to Christmas.
Similarly, January spins start easy, but get a bit more challenging each week up to March.

THE PROCESS

On Thursdays events will go live in RWGPS for the following weekend

The event for Red riders is a placeholder.  It may be updated later with a route.

The event for Orange riders has the suggested route for that weekend.
There is no need for Orange riders to RSVP.

The events for Yellow and White riders contain the relevant routes.
If you plan to ride Yellow or White, you must RSVP to the event.
We need to know numbers so that we have an appropriate number of leaders.

A reminder about the Sunday spin will be posted to both Orwell Leisure groups on WhatsApp.

Rain does not stop the ride.
“There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.”
However,

Club Winter spins WILL NOT take place if an ORANGE weather warning is in place

Club Winter spin MAY NOT take place if there is a YELLOW weather warning in place.
Keep an eye on the club forum for updates.
