Hi all,
Registration now open for Round 4. Race starts at 19:00 for all categories. There is one race, handicapped with Limit off first and Scratch off last.
Marshals, please be there for 18:30, you'll be assigned positions then. Stephen O'Shea is the race organiser, with Ken O'Neill in the lead car and Ivan O'Brien in the broom wagon.
REGISTER HERE: eventmaster.ie/event/nD4PCplH0v
No late entries for this one. I really can't emphasise that enough.
This is our first race on the road since 2019, so we're not taking any chances. For everyone doing this race, the first priority should be safety and respect for other riders and road users. Anyone racing recklessly will risk expulsion from the league, and I won't hold back on that. If there are cars approaching on the opposite side, move in and sacrifice your position if you have to. Give pedestrians adequate space.
When arriving, stay well off the road and do not block anyone's path. We don't own the roads.
Most importantly, enjoy the race, it's great to actually have a road race in the league again!
I'll share more details later in relation to route, handicaps, etc. But for now, get registering!

Here is the route with circuit: www.strava.com/routes/2843096681127415590
Note: The end point of this route is not the finish line, but is there to illustrate the circuit. The finish is at the usual location on Lake Drive (at 14.1km on the above route).
Once riders are on the circuit, the race will be 3 laps: the first "half-lap" to the finish line, then 2 full laps from the finish line.
I will award KOM points (6,5,4,3,2,1) for the fastest up the "Oldcourt segment". So if you want to be in with a shout of those, make sure your ride is public: www.strava.com/segments/1271534
Points for the first 8 (8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1).
I will update classifications here before the race.

If any of tonight's marshals fancy racing tonight, I'm not going to race this one and I still need a swap for July 29th. Happy to marshal this evening.
Let me know how you're fixed. Cheers, Dec.
