Coastal Classique 200 Audax was created by John Turner
A few of us are cycling the Coastal Classique 200 on Sunday. Starting at 8am from Blackrock we’ll lead a no drop yellow pace group.

This is a good opportunity to experience an audax distance while the days are still long enough to complete the ride in daylight. The route is of moderate difficulty with 2100m of climbing over 200km.

Post here if interested and specify pace group (we’ll adapt the pace/split the group according to interest).

Starting out from Blackrock Eugene. Based on feedback we are also going to start at 7 to avoid peak traffic along the coast.

Good idea to start earlier. I meant the route variation where I took out a few of the hills because I thought it was a bit sadistic.

I'm well thanks Colin - hope youre keeping well too

I've been giving the option of this route too and had intended to update the AI site but didn't get around to it. Both work for the Coastal Classique permanent as its just a slight variation:

Coastal Classique Route two

I might send you a message to see what one youre doing and might join in for a stint weather dependent!

Sunday saw 6 riders start in Blackrock on what started out a dull morning with plenty of drizzle. Audaxing regulars (Colin, Tony, Michael and I) were joined by John Healy and Elaine Seale-Mckend.

Elaine and Michael peeled off at various points in the day leaving the remainder of the group to suffer the sting in the tail of what was a nice route. Luckily the afternoon cleared up allowing us to pack away rain jackets before hitting some of the lumpy stuff.

All in all, an enjoyable day out and great to see a few brave soles give auditing a try.
