For anyone unfamiliar with this group its run for the last 6/7 years over the summer. It started as a spin aimed at people training for events like the Etape, Marmotte etc and expanded to be a mountains training spin for club members in general.
The pace is generally orange pace and upwards with the aim of keeping everyone together on the flatter sections and people going at their own pace up climbs and regrouping afterwards. The exact pace depends on who turns up.
Routes will vary between about 83km and 110km distance wise and 1,300 to 2,200 meters in terms of climbing.
Spins start at the Yellow House in Rathfarnham at 8am on Sundays
There is a coffee stop in Laragh
Normal Club and Cycling Ireland Covid regulations apply.
If enough people turn up more than one group will head out.
Routes are posted on this thread on a weekly basis.

Plan to stop once in Laragh for coffee. If someone just wants to go as far as Laragh they are free to do so.

Hi Peadar, I am thinking of joining you for a Sunday in the hills. What kind of time are you generally completing the rides in? Just want to be sure that I'm not going to be huffing and puffing way behind in the distance! Cheers, Paul
Hi Paul generally we are back in Dublin between 12 and 1 which is the best guide for overall pace. It includes the coffee stop which is around 20-30 min. The exact pace depends on the route, weather, exact people who turn up etc.
As I mentioned in the first post on this thread people go at their own pace up the climbs where things will naturally break up a bit and then regroup afterwards. On the flatter sections of tbe routes the pace is generally fairly steady and group aims to stay together.
If you are new to the club and you can do a hilly 80 -100 km spin comfortably on your own I'd say come along and give it a try.
