The White spin on Sunday 18th is Cancelled.

Yellow, Orange & Red spins will go ahead. However, please take extra care.   Even though temps will be well above zero, it may still be slippy under trees, in hollows and on crests.

Last gentle reminder

You must be a current club member to participate in Sunday spins (AND have a Cycling Ireland membership)

A significant number of  people with Orwell RWGPS access have not renewed for 2023

Now would be a good time to renew, as I plan to start revoking access before this Sunday's spin.

This Sunday sees a return of the Mile High 69er for Valentine’s weekend.  Heavy breathing and an elevated pulse will be required to complete this 69km with one mile of elevation (1565m).

(Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional).

Completing this route would be a good baseline reference for anyone considering the Orwell Randonnée or Wicklow 200.

The Hazel House at 38km is the coffee stop.   White riders might skip the final climbs and head straight home from here (for a shorter ride with only 760m of ascent - similar to the last 40km of the Ring of Beara).

Once again we are short on leaders (thanks in advance to Francis Barry and John Murray rostered for Yellow, and Andrew Potts rostered for White).

There is 1km of fire road (downhill) at the 54km mark. Those worried about getting their bike dirty might return Dundrum by tarmac from Ticknock masts

White head out the old Long Hill to Roundwood for coffee.

Yellows head out the same way, but take a little detour up the Wall before to get to he old Long Hill.
The route then goes to Oldbridge and Laragh for coffee.

Both routes take detours off the main road on the way home to avoid traffic.

Hello Joe,
I am having problems accessing RWGPS. I have an account and can log in. Any time I click on the week's route in the spreadsheet of spins I am directed to a RWGPS page which says the route is private and I cannot get past this. Going onto the Orwell page doesn't get me there either. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Fintan.
