Errigal International Youth Tour 2018 was created by Louise Keane
One of the biggest events on the youth calendar - the Errigal International Youth Tour - takes place this weekend. Scott Orwell Wheelers will be well represented at the race but not everyone will be wearing club jerseys! We are very lucky to have riders representing Leinster and Ireland as well as having a Scott Orwell Team.
Scott Orwell Wheelers:
Áine Reilly
Ryan Fox
Killian O'Brien
Luca Holmes
Conor Murphy Rogers
Leinster:
Ronan O'Conor
Ireland:
Annie Roche
Katie Reilly
This is a tough 3 day/4 stage event:
Saturday Day 1 Programme (provisional)
Stage 1: This is a Road Race that will roll out from Churchill and will be neutralised for approximately 1km, Category 3/3a race (U12’s) will be held over a 9.5 km circuit with the finish on the main street in Churchill. Category 2/2a (U14’s) will follow with 3 laps of the same 9.5 km circuit and Category 1/1a (U16’s) completing 5 laps of the same.
Sunday Day 2 Programme (provisional)
Stage 2: This is a challenging 3.8 km hilly time trial that will start from Larkins Bar and finish in Foxhall. This stage will apply to all competitor categories with a starting order that will be the reverse of GC.
Stage 3: This is the famous (or infamous!) Keelogues Stage that everyone looks forward to, a Road Race that takes the riders around a 9.5 km circuit that ends with the climb up Keelogues onto the main street in Churchill with the U12’s completing 1 lap, the U14’S completing 3 laps and the U16’S completing 5 laps.
Monday Day 3 Programme (provisional)
Stage 4: On Monday morning the competitors will roll out on to a Criterium circuit in the town of Letterkenny. This promises to again be a great spectacle.

One final post on this (is there ever a final post?)
While our youths were giving it there all on the roads and getting lots of photos taken we have to remember to say thank you to all those behind the scenes who made this happen. There is no way we would have been able to send youths to participate on 3 teams at this event without the amazing help and work of parents, family and friends.
So Chapeau and thanks to Lorna, Terry, Ivan, Martyn, Liz, Sarah, Elaine and all the family members who helped in any and every way. The club is very lucky to have you all involved and to care so much:)

Liz Roche of the Youth Commission has asked me to share this message:
Sincere thanks to Ivan, Martin and the three lads Ryan, Killian and Luca for all their help in supporting the Irish girls teams in Errigal last week. They transported our bikes and rollers all weekend to and from each venue. Without them and the Scott Orwell Wheelers van I could not have pulled off this weekend. I am very much in their debt.
Well done to Conor, Ronan, Ryan, Killian, Luca, Áine, Katie and Annie who competed with great grit and determination and left nothing behind in Churchill, especially Keeloges and Letterkenny.
To Terry and Lorna - many thanks from the bottom of my heart for getting me out of so many holes with accommodation, lifts, shopping and putting up the tent every morning.
Thanks to the Orwell parents and their famlies for all their support on and off the road. The success of this weekend for the girls is due to these people who were left working quietly in the back ground.
To the club - thanks for everything and I hope that I haven't left anyone out. You are the future of youth boys and girls cycling please keep it going and work together as you did last week.
Sincere thanks
