LEISURE:

This weekend Scott Orwell Wheelers are running the National 400 and National 600 Audax events. These are a big step up from 200 & 300 events and we wish everyone taking part the best of luck. The best news is that the weather is looking pretty good for the weekend so fingers crossed everyone gets around ok.

The 600km begins at 06:00 am and the 400km at 19:20 pm on Saturday 4th Aug. Both finish at 22:00 on Sunday 6th. The 70 year old Orwell flag will be flying high at the overnight rest stop at Kilmacow Co. Kilkenny.

33 brave souls are setting on Saturday across the 400/600 routes. The organisers hope by Sunday night that 11 Orwell members will have completed the event this year.  This then gives them the right to apply for a Paris Brest Paris PBP entry Time; which is being run in 2019.  Riders must also complete a Super Randonneur brevet series (200, 300, 400 and 600 km) of ACP-sanctioned brevets in 2019 to get a entry ticket.

For more information on these events and the routes have a look at National 400 & 600 event information
