Arrigan scorched to the Under 16 title in 24mnutes 54 seconds, more than a minute clear of the runner up on a fine evening for Time Trialling.

Meanwhile in Kildare on Saturday, Odhrán Connors finished a fine seventh on the first stage of the Paddy Flanagan 2-Day. With the benefit of the FBD Ras in his legs Connors made the selection to claim a top prize in the prestigious event.

Earlier in the week Declan Quigley went within millimetres of taking a maiden cycle race victory but nonetheless scored his best ever result in finishing second in the Lakeside Wheelers Expert Criterium A4 race in Mullingar.
