Over the last four weeks, youths have tearing around the cycle track in Corkagh Park, racing against their peers in weekly series. It continues this coming Bank Holiday Monday (June 5th) and every Monday over the Summer (ex. June 19th). Sign on opens at 18:30 and first race is 19:00. Entry is €2. We are in week 4 of 6 of the Interclub League but each nights racing is stand alone and youths are welcome along every evening. The youngest competitor, our own Danny McLoughlin, is 3 and the upper age limit is 16. It is open to boys and girls and each evening there are three separate events.

Monday Night Racing Results – Week 4
In the U6/8/10 CP , Paddy Larkin was victorious while Kevin Randall took 2nd ahead of newcomers brothers Conor and Myles Whitney (u/a)
Andrew Ryan took the honours in the 12/14/16 CP in a sprint finish from Peter Walsh, Dylan Baker & Ruairi Byrne, the older lads catching Lorcan Cattle within sight of the finish line. Ella Murtagh (Lucan) was first girl home.
In the skills - Slalom/Dual Slalom, Kevin & Ruairi got maximum points being undefeated through 5 rounds. Cillian Saunders, Darragh Saunders, Siona Lynch & Anna Cobbe were closest on nine points and yes we were cruel we knocked out both people in one of the finals for hitting the cones.
In the 3rd event of the night, Elimination Races, Oisin May (u/a) was victorious in the 10/8/6, with a clear win ahead of Luca Holmes and Kevin. Orlaith Murtagh (Lucan) pipped Anna for first girl. For the older lads, Andrew took the sprint from Peter who was waiting for the next lap and Ruairi.
