Orwell 200 Audax Training Spin
Saturday 27th Mar. saw 12 hardy souls set off on a 145 km training spin in preparation for the Orwell 200 Audax. The aim of the spin was to get kilometres into the legs and hours on the saddle. While a small diversion was necessary at the end; it seems that most riders managed to put in 150+ kms on the day.
Just outside Wicklow two of the twelve had to make a dart home to save their accumulated brownie points; while another set off with them, to literally, catch a DART. After achieving the objectives of the day everyone is now looking forward, with more confidence, to the banter and the challenge of the Orwell 200 Audax - on Sunday March 6th.
Thanks to all on the spin who again displayed unselfishly the spirit of Orwell group cycling.
