Hi All, I am exploring a cycle trip to Italy next year. I am in contact with three different suppliers of cycling trips to Italy.

And just to be clear I am proposing a cycling touring holiday, i.e cycling tours, cycling trips to vineyards and other agriturismo trips. There will be days off and a few half days cycles.

It's not a cycling training camp.

After many months of planning the day has come and 52 Orwell cyclists are heading off on the ferry this Friday to Wales.
The team heading up the trip is
Sarah McCarthy, Trish Bunyan, John Collins and myself.
And many thanks to Sarah for organising the route and being our support van person on the trip.

Cheers
Leonard

The Orwell Wheelers Touring group is off tomorrow Saturday, on a 2-Day tour of sites associated with the ’98 uprising in Co. Wexford.
Here is the promo video of that tour; organised by Dr. John and his side-kick Barry Denton.

Of note, I hope to publish details at the end of Oct. of our 2024 Leisure tour to Italy

Hola José,
Gravel Biking, not in the traditional sense.
You'd be better served by checking Boards.ie's Cycling forum. They have a Grevil, the Gravel version of their Evil road spin.
There's only two main events on the calendar The Galway Gravel Grinder and the (Fermanagh) Gravel Grinder (on today).
There also a Bog series in my home village, Abbeyknockmoy, in Galway for the four Saturdays in February. There's also a Galway Classic Sportive (after Easter) that runs on the bog roads around the same village.

Mountain Biking, there is a WhatsApp group.
I'll ping one of the guys I know in it.

If you want to try CycloCross on your gravel bike and gravel tyres, Navan have a pretty dry grassy course on the 29th of October.
You can enter the B-Race on big tyres and MTBs.
Check out The Leinster League of CycloCross on social media for more.

The Orwell Wheeler's Touring/Adventure group is organising 2 trips to Italy next year 2024.
The Tour de France has 3 stages in the region, and The Giro passes through the region as well. We can get a chance to cycle part of the routes.

Trip 1 TBA Mid-May.
Trip 2 TBA end Sept early Oct.

You book your own flight.
For example, the  package will include:
Transfer from airport to hotel and return.
Half board.
Bike hire.
Overnight Laundry
Cycle tour guides

The Bike Hotels offer road and off-road routes, e. g. Forests, Vineyards, river-banks.
There will be a different choice each day, with groups similar to ourselves.
Mostly on road, and daily excursions or the pool if you wish not to cycle.

And just to be clear I am proposing a cycle touring holiday. There will be days off and a few half days cycles.
It is not a cycling training camp. Although they offer a similar to Orwell red group rides

There will be a choice of road, gravel, or bikes to hire. Bring your own helmet, shoes, and pedals.
